Joncaring Foundation is an NGO founded in 2004.The Foundation was set up to help the deprived Communities especially disadvantaged women the poor distressed and oppressed. This came about as result of witnessing the negative impact of HIV/AIDS pandemic as well as other health related disease and also the high rate of illiteracy especially among women in the Ashaiman Municipality.

Campaign on the reality of HIV/AIDS pandemic in churches, mosque, schools and the general public was launched. This attracted a core group of volunteers in June 2006 culminating in the official registration of the Organization with registration number G-17,963 at Registrar General Department in Ghana.

Ghana has a higher illiteracy rate contributing to the high level of poverty, disease low income and low productivity.

Women form a higher percentage of society representing about 51%. Despite their significant roles in the economic activities at the house hold level and in the general society. Women seem to have diminished rights in terms of education and are therefore exploited by their male counterparts. Lack of education predisposes these women to higher risk of HIV/AIDs Malaria and other diseases. This also prevents them from participation in Good Governance activities. The result is early death of the mothers leaving the children as orphans even though the ‘missing in action fathers may be alive and the children growing to become Drug addicts robbers and social misfits.

One can justifiably attribute the under development of our part of the world to lack of education especially among Women and youth.  Joncaring Foundation was formed in response to the need to assist the illiterate poor especially women and youth to attain some level of basic education so as to take part in the developmental process in the nation.
